Our friends in Nonpoint are back in the studio this week. They’ve armed themselves with a new line up that are ready to bring some Metal to the masses. A few months back they release a taste of what they’ve been working on. If you haven’t heard it yet, check it out below!

They also released a video rehearsing with new members and Chicago natives Dave Lizzio , Adam Wolosyzn , and Rasheed Thomas . In the video below check out drummer Robb Rivera sporting our Death Grip US Flag shirt. Robb has been HUGE supporter of Death Grip Clothing .  Around the office we like to call him “The Ambassador” of Death Grip. Robb’s road into battle with us, grabbed our flag, and led the charge! We really can’t thank him enough.

The band released this statement yesterday about hitting the studio and introducing the new members of the band. I’m really looking forward to this new album!

“Florida rockers NONPOINT have entered Groovemaster Studios in Chicago, Illinois with Grammy-nominated producer Johnny K (DISTURBED, STAIND, MEGADETH) to begin recording their seventh album, due later in the year via the band’s new label home, Razor & Tie.

Founding NONPOINT members Elias Soriano (vocals) and Robb Rivera (drums) last year welcomed three new members to the family: Dave Lizzio (guitar), Adam Wolosyzn (bass), and Rasheed Thomas (guitar). All three musicians come from the Chicago-based rock act INN CINEMA.

Commented Soriano: “We’re proud to officially announce the new members of NONPOINT. Dave Lizzio, Rasheed Thomas and Adam Woloszyn have been chased by bands in the Chicago area for years and somehow by a stroke of luck and timing, we now have three of the freshest, most talented players on our team. These guys are great players and even better people.

“From day one, the new writing process has been full of great ideas and open minds, and now adding Johnny K into the formula has Robb and I very excited. After listening to the demos, Johnny K said, ‘It’s easy to find someone to play guitar for a band. It’s hard to accomplish what you have by finding Dave, Rasheed and Adam, and that’s finding people who can write amazing riffs.’ From that point on I knew: This new lineup and record will be epic in the chronicle of NONPOINT.”

Being a Chicago based company, we take great pride in our history. While some people look at Al Capone as a monster, we look at him as a bit of…well…a role modal. Or at least the legend that we’ve all come to know of him. A little known fact about Capone that people don’t know is that he never pulled a trigger in the St Valentine Day Massacre. Actually, he wasn’t even there. He was giving a statement to a prosecutor in Florida when the hit went down. Capone was also never convicted of the murder. He was imprisoned for 11 yrs for tax evasion. The stiffest sentence given for tax evasion to date.

Another little know fact about Capone is that during the great depression, Al owned a number of soup kitchens around the Chicagoland area. Those soup kitchens would feed 100′s of unemployed people everyday. That’s the shit you never hear about though. If you were born and raised in Chicago, there’s a good chance you heard these stories first hand from your grandparents or their friends, which were passed down by their grandparents, that knew someone who worked for Capone’s Chicago “Outfit”.
